They say if you whisper to a dandelion and blow on it, its seeds will carry your message across the world.. Just like a prophet. I saw a dandelion today and I could feel the breath of a woman on its seeds. They smelled like blood and dust, like a land that kills its own prophets, a place covered ankle-deep in whispered songs and memories that should never be forgotten.

Farideh Didehvar was born in 1998, in Mashhad, Iran. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. During her undergraduate studies, she joined, and later became a member of the central board of, a student-run theatre organization, where she trained to write, act and direct. it was in this society where she wrote and directed her first plays, and decided to choose the field of theatre and performance for her future studies.

 

She is currently undertaking an MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her practice revolves around the Middle East, focusing on the space and scenography. Her works are mostly either autobiographical or based on true stories.
