cleave festival 2021

BYOB is an intimate journey through a deconstructed party. With a re-imagined playlist, this participatory live art performance looks to create a sense of community and shift perceptions: through quiet and caring moments of joy. It is an antidote to the separation and individualistic mentalities which have been amplified by the government throughout this pandemic. It is a quiet invitation to get together and party, (sort of).

Claire Leith is a performance maker and artist working across live art, dance and postdramatic theatre. Her practice creates joyful audience experiences, marrying interests in feminism, ecology and absurdity. She makes work which pushes the boundaries of what performance can be. Currently, she is preoccupied with finding ways the world can party.

Rebecca Carter is an interdisciplinary performance maker and artist who loves to dance. Working from an intersectional feminist and queer perspective, she is interested in everything and anything and all that is inbetween. Rebecca’s work aims to create joyful experiences for an audience that can reframe perspectives of socio-political issues.
